I hate losing to the Giants…

(Mimicking Dodger announcer Joe Davis): The third place Dodgers (9-10) are headed to San Francisco today for the first of a four game series against their biggest rivals, the last place Giants (6-13).  Both teams have been struggling lately but the Dodgers call upon Hyun Jin Ryu as they look to gain some momentum…

(Insert record scratch sound) — Ok, enough of the professional jargon.  Tonight’s game was basically a pitching matchup and mostly pretty boring if I’m being honest.  Ryu and the Giants’ Matt Cain each threw 6 innings with Cain only allowing 2 singles (Seager/Puig) before strangely exiting the 7th inning after already having warmed up.  Ryu was red hot tonight and is starting to look like his old self.  He only allowed 1 run which came off a sac fly by Joe Panik.  Ryu didn’t “panic” though and pitched a solid 6 innings despite being tagged for his 4th loss.

For those of you who don’t want to hear some boring recap of a game you either watched or do not care to watch, I’ll give you some highlights and try to make it interesting: First and foremost, to be able to even watch the game tonight was, in and of itself, a hassle.  You see, I get my Dodgers now using the MLB.tv app (don’t ask me how I’m able to…let’s just say that I do).  I have been having “glitching” issues for the past week or so and was on the phone with MLB.tv customer service (they were very nice and professional by the way) who helped me determine that it was, instead an internet issue (Thanks AT&T…).  After spending an hour and a half resetting my wifi extender and moving my Roku device all over the house, I finally was able to watch the game (though way behind and finished around nearly 11:30pm – yay).

I’m a “die-hard” fan though and I will go the distance to be able to watch my Boys in Blue.  My wife most likely thinks I’m nuts, or obsessed, or a combination and, well, she’s right.  Moving on.

Back to the game, one of the Dodger highlights was watching Puig throw out Brandon Belt AT THE PLATE in the first inning on a no-hop bullet to Grandal.  If you missed it, check it out here. It’s awesome.
