Should Bellinger and Taylor be in the Starting Lineup?

The third place Dodgers (14-12) are riding a four-game winning streak after sweeping the Philadelphia Phillies at home this weekend.  This marks the second series win and first sweep of the season for LA.  It appears that the Dodgers are starting to finally develop a rhythm but it begs the question: Do Chris Taylor and rookie Cody Bellinger belong in the starting lineup?

Los Angeles split the series against the San Francisco Giants last week in Game 4 after erupting for 4 runs in the 10th inning.  One of those RBI’s came off of the bat of Chris Taylor.  Yesterday’s “Miracle at Chavez Ravine” had Cody Bellinger right in the middle of it after hitting his second homer of the evening off the right field foul pole in the bottom of the 9th.

Today, the Dodgers beat the Phillies 5-3 after the Dodgers went ahead 2-1 off Chris Taylor’s solo shot in the second inning.  Dave Roberts has been playing around with the lineup basically the entire season.  The Dodgers have also had early injuries to starters Joc Pederson and Logan Forsythe; however, it seems that both Taylor and Bellinger have proven that they can fill their spots without a hiccup.  Andrew Toles has also gotten himself out of an early slump fitting nicely into the starting lineup batting leadoff and beginning to prove his worth.  The season is still young and Roberts will have a lot of options with a fully healthy team.

Are Taylor and Bellinger worthy to start in the lineup?  Do they deserve spots over Pederson and Forsythe?  Should other players be benched for one or both of them – the semi-injured A-gon, Kike’, Utley, Van Slyke?  There is no doubt that Roberts has a talented team.  The question is: Who is worthy to start?  Or is it early enough in the season that he should continue to rotate the lineup?
